Women's Track & Field Claims Second NEC Team Crown
The Central Connecticut State women's track and field team capped off its second NEC team title on Sunday in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils seven events on the final day and topped the team scoreboard with 182 points.
Maegan Desmarais was named both the Most Valuable Performer and Most Outstanding Track Performer – Distance in leading Central to the team title.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
- Maegan Desmarais closed strong to win the 3000m steeple with a time of 10:42.71. Isabella Jensen (11:41.13) and Isabelle Mondo (12:37.48) placed sixth and eighth respectively.
- The 4x100m Relay of Alissa Hurd, Jessica Farrell, Kayla Logan and Ciara Adu-Addo took sixth in a time of 48.91.
- Mya Morabito claimed a win in the 1,500m with a time of 4:34.56.
- Hurd ran in the 100m Hurdles final and placed sixth in 14.80.
- Kyrah Smith led a trio of Blue Devils in the 400m with a time of 57.02 to win gold. Sultana Ali (58.19) and Jessica Farrell (58.83) placed fourth and fifth respectively.
- Nuchwara Inthasit clocked a 12.27 in the 100m final to place fifth.
- CCSU took gold and silver in the 800m with Mya Morabito winning in 2:16.98, just ahead of Rachel Bartolucci in 2:17.42
- Alexandra Edwards scored in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:12.45
- In the 200m final, Inthasit (25.32) was fifth and Smith placed eighth in 25.88.
- Desmarais returned to the medal podium in the 5,000m with a time of 17:28.28 to place third.
- Inthasit, Ali, Logan and Smith closed the meet with a 4x400m relay win in 3:54.84.
FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
- Maya Marin won gold in the javelin with a best mark of 42.77m. Each of her four attempts were the longest marks of the competition. Lyndsey Gravel (30.66m) and Marina Perry (29.65m) also scored, placing sixth and eighth respectively.
- Ciara Adu-Addo scored in the triple jump by placing seventh with a mark of 11.43m
- Hailey Sousa placed eighth in the pole vault with a height of 2.90m
- Marin won the discus with a mark of 46.49m. Marina Perry (39.89m) placed fourth, Payton Lowe (37.12m) took sixth.
