Milhomens Named NEC Swimmer Of The Week
Won twice in dual wins over SCSU and Wagner
Central Connecticut State junior Sophie Milhomens was named the NEC Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday for her efforts in dual meets wins over Wagner and Southern Connecticut State. She was joined on the NEC Prime Performer list by Jewelle Maziarz and Izzy Vega.
Milhomens won the 200-backstroke in 2:04.72, the best time in the event in the conference this season. She posted the league's third fastest time, 57.94, on her way to winning the 100-backstroke as well. Milhomens posted a season-best in leading off the medley relay, split 27.53, which ranks eight fastest this season in the NEC.
Maziarz posted the high score on both boards in the dual meet victories, scoring 236.24 on the 1-meter and 232.35 on the 3-meter board.
Vega won the 1,000-freestyle in the dual meet win in 10:57.06, the third fastest time this season in the conference.
The Blue Devils are back in the pool on Saturday, November 8th when they swim Binghamton at NJIT.
