Bats Boom As Blue Devils Complete Weekend NEC Sweep Over FDU
CCSU Wins Sunday's Series Finale 11-2 In Five Innings
The Blue Devils' bats boomed for the second straight day on Sunday afternoon, as the CCSU softball team completed a three-game, home NEC sweep over the FDU Knights with an 11-2 run-rule win in five innings.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central wasted no time in putting the offensive hammer down on Sunday, as the Blue Devils raced out to a 9-0 lead after two innings.
- CCSU scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning an RBI-double by Ava Cino, and RBI-single by Stella Gasper, and FDU error, a triple by Kristina Bozek that plated three runs and an RBI-double by Ashlyn Desaulniers.
- Skylar Warn, who went 2-for-3 on the day with 3 runs batted in, knocked in her first two of the game with a single in the bottom of the second.
- After the Knights scored two runs in the top of third, the Blue Devils would score of their own in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run by Warn, her second homer of the season, and an RBI-double by Bozek, who finished the game with two extra base hits and four runs batted.
- Ava Cino went 3-for-3 at the dish to help power the 14-hit CCSU offensive attack on Sunday.
- Liz Hamilton raised her season record to a team-best 5-1 in the pitching circle firing her second complete game of the weekend, as she scattered seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk over five innings.
NOTES
- As a team, Central now has 11 home runs so far this season, as the Blue Devils went yard in every game over the weekend.
- Five players Ashlyn Desaulniers , Ava Cino, Grace Lawton, Skylar Warn and Kristina Bozek, had at least two hits in Sunday's contest.
- The Blue Devils have now won four straight games.
- In the three-game sweep over FDU, CCSU scored 27 runs on 32 hits winning two of the three games in run-rule fashion. The team also blasted a total of four home runs in the three games.
- The Blue Devils played errorless softball in the weekend sweep over FDU.
