Women's Basketball Falls at FDU on Thursday Night
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team slumped in the second half, falling at FDU, 76-45, on Thursday night in NEC action. The Blue Devils were held to one field goal in the fourth quarter, while the Knights shot 50 percent after halftime to pull away.
Jessica Farrell was the only Blue Devil in double-figures, finishing with a team-high 10 points. Nicora Patrick added eight points, while Lucia Noin chipped in seven points. Kiyah Lewis grabbed a team-high seven rebounds with six points.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils fell behind 12-4 in the opening 3:35 of the game, but a three-pointer by Noin would spark a run of nine unanswered points. Farrell scored three straight points before a trifecta by Lewis put CCSU ahead, 13-12, at the 4:04 mark of the period.
- FDU would close the first quarter by hitting two three-pointers as part of an 8-0 run to build a seven-point lead after the opening frame.
- The Knights would push the lead to double-figures with four points at the start of the second period before a Farrell Jumper made it 24-16. Although FDU maintained the lead, CCSU would hang close with Patrick accounting for five straight points for the Blue Devils before a three-pointer by Lewis got Central within 32-27. The Knights would score the final four points of the half to make it 36-27 at the intermission.
- FDU would open the second half on a 8-0 run, outscoring CCSU 15-2 over a six-plus minute span across two halves, to open up a 45-29 lead. Following a layup by Kayla Henry, Kailee McDonald connected on back-to-back three-pointers to give the Knights a 16-point lead and force a Blue Devils timeout at the 7:19 mark. Central would snap a nearly four-minute scoring drought and stem the FDU run when Nicora Patrick hit a three-pointer just past the midway mark of the period to make it 47-32.
- The FDU lead would expand to as much as 55-34 with 2:28 left in the period before closing the third quarter with a 56-36 margin. The CCSU defense would hold the Knights scoreless for over two minutes and a shooting drought of going 1-for-10, but the Blue Devils would be unable to take advantage on the offensive end.
- A layup by Christa Ramos at the onset of the fourth quarter made it 56-38 with 9:41 remaining. The Blue Devils would be limited to just seven free throws, including six by Mathilda Toure, the rest of the way as FDU would push the lead to the final margin.
