Volleyball Closes Out at Stags Invitational, Milani Named All-Tournament
Central Connecticut volleyball fell to Boston College in straight sets on Saturday in its finale at the Stags Invitational. Lauren Milani had 10 kills and nine digs to lead the Blue Devils.
Central travels to Merrimack on Thursday, September 12, for a 7:00 p.m. game.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils held an early, 8-7, lead in the opening set after running off three points in a row. Amanda Tokam sparked the spurt with a kill and Weronika Poczynek would record back-to-back aces. A kill by Milani would tie the set at 14-all, but the Eagles would respond with four straight points and did not trail again in the frame.
- Boston College would build a 7-1 lead to open the second set and the Blue Devils were unable to get closer than five points. CCSU was limited to just .125 hitting percentage in the frame, while BC hit .400.
- Milani and Keckler would each have a kill to open the third set and help CCSU lead, 3-1. The Blue Devils would tie the set at 10-10 after a kill by Poczynek, but BC came back with three straight points as part of a 7-2 run to take control of the set enroute to winning the match.
NOTES
- The Eagles have won all six meetings between the programs since 2001.
- Milani was named to the All-Tournament team following the weekend.
- Poczynek added 10 kills and five digs.
- Kylee Baranski finished with 20 assists and four digs.
