Volleyball Falls to UConn on Saturday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team lost at UConn on Saturday, 3-0, in Storrs, CT, in the finale of the Holly Young Invitational
Central plays at Bryant on Tuesday before beginning Northeast Conference play the following weekend.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils tied the opening set at 5-5 following a kill by Olivia Keckler. The Huskies would nudge ahead with three straight points and eventually pushed the lead to 17-9. A kill by Kaylin Hadley and a block by Hadley and Keckler would momentarily turn the momentum but UConn would go on to win the opening set on a run of three straight points.
- UConn scored the first three points and would build a 6-1 lead in the second set. Central would take advantage of a kill by Isabella Bratzke before Annabelle Denomme served five straight points, including three straight aces to cut the deficit to four points. The Huskies would manage to close out the set to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
- UConn would jump out to a 10-2 lead in the third set and did not allow back-to-back points by CCSU until an error followed by a block by Kylee Baranski made it 16-5. The Huskies closed the set with a 8-1 run to close out the match.
NUMBER TO KNOW
5 – Denomme tied the best mark for a 3-set match in the Northeast Conference this season with five service aces.
NOTES
- The Blue Devils are 1-6 against the Huskies.
- Denomme added eight digs and an assist. She was named to the Holly Young Invitational All-Tournament Team.
- Lauren Milani had a team-high five kills with five digs.
- Baranski finished with 13 assists and five digs.
