Volleyball Stopped Against Chicago State on Saturday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team fell to Chicago State, 3-0, in Northeast Conference action on Saturday at Detrick Gymnasium. Amanda Tokam had six kills and three blocks for CCSU.
The Blue Devils travel to Saint Francis U for a pair of matches next weekend.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Cougars led 14-8 in the opening set before a kill by Olivia Keckler started a spurt for CCSU that it trimmed the deficit to 15-13 and forced a CSU timeout. The Cougars would score to end the threat and closed the set out on an ace by Andrea Calderon.
- A kill by Lauren Milani, followed by an ace by Tokam got Central within, 8-5, before Chicago State scored 10 unanswered points and would go on to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
- Annabelle Denomme gave CCSU an early lead at 3-2, following an ace. A kill by Kaylin Hadley would get the Blue Devils within, 9-8, but CSU used a five-point run to extend its lead. CCSU would get within, 18-14, following a run of three points, but the Cougars would hold onto the lead enroute to winning the match, 3-0.
NOTES
- Chicago State has won two of the three meetings in Division I.
- Tokam hit .556 in the game, while finishing with six kills, three blocks and an ace.
- Milani had six kills and eight digs with a block.
- Larissa Hiemer finished with 16 assists and four digs.
- Denomme had eight digs and two aces.
