Volleyball Swept at LIU on Friday Night
The Central Connecticut volleyball team dropped a Northeast Conference contest at LIU, 3-0, on Friday night in Brooklyn, NY. The Blue Devils close the season against LIU on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- CCSU took an early 2-1 lead following a kill by Weronika Poczynek. The set was level at 3-3 before the Sharks scored four straight points. CCSU would get within, 9-7, following back-to-back points, but LIU would stretch its lead to 18-12, forcing a Central timeout. The Blue Devils responded with consecutive kills by Poczynek and Lauren Milani and cut the deficit to 18-15 before LIU responded with three straight and closed the set with a 7-1 run.
- Amanda Tokam had a kill on the opening point of the second set, but LIU would go ahead, 6-1. After a back-to-back kills by Isabella Bratzke and Kaylin Hadley, the Sharks would respond with four straight points to push its lead to double-digits. CCSU scored three straight with kills by Milani and Olivia Keckler sandwiched around an ace by Larissa Hiemer before LIU closed the set.
- An ace by Annabelle Denomme in the third set helped Central take an early 5-4 lead in the frame. Folling a kill by Milani to put CCSU up 6-5, LIU would score 10 unanswered points. Consecutive kills by Milani ended the string, but the Sharks would not allow the Blue Devils to score consecutive points before closing out the match.

- Poczynek had five kills in the opening set and finished the match with nine digs.
