Volleyball Battles FDU in Conference Action on Friday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team lost in straight sets, 3-0, to FDU in Northeast Conference action on Friday night in New Britain, CT. Lauren Milani had nine kills, nine digs and three blocks for the Blue Devils.
The teams will meet again on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils fell behind, 10-3, in the opening set before making a run at the Knights. Central Connecticut would outscored FDU, 8-4, to trim the deficit to three points. The rally began with back-to-back CCSU points, including a kill by Weronika Poczynek, before a block by Milani and Kaylin Hadley made it 14-11. FDU would maintain its lead and although Central was within, 20-17, the Knights would outscore the hosts 5-2 down the stretch.
- In the second set, CCSU was within, 3-2, before the Knights took control of the frame. Eleonora Tosi would serve 15 straight points and FDU pushed its lead to 18-2. A kill by Louise Lion and a block by Amanda Tokam would shift momentum to Central, but the Knights would close out the set and take a two-set lead.
- Central got a kill from Olivia Keckler to open the third set and was within, 14-13, midway through the frame after an ace by Keckler. FDU would push its lead to 22-15 and force a Blue Devils timeout. Following the team meeting, Central would battle back from a 24-19 deficit beginning with a kill by Milani. After two FDU errors, Keckler would notch a kill to make it 24-23 and force a Knights timeout. Out of the timeout, FDU got a kill to close out the match.

8 – CCSU notched a season-best eight blocks in Northeast Conference play.
NOTES
- Central collected 54 digs as a team, its second-best total of the season. Annabelle Denomme had a team-high 11 digs, while Milani and Madison Massaro-Cook had nine apiece.
- Hadley hit a team-best .354 and had five kills with four blocks.
- Kylee Baranski had 21 assists directing the Central attack.
- CCSU is 31-9 in the series going back to 2002. FDU has won six straight matchups.
