Baseball Drops Series Finale at Florida A&M
The Central Connecticut State baseball team lost to Florida A&M in the series finale on Sunday, 9-4. The Blue Devils built a four-run lead before the Rattlers went ahead with a five-run sixth inning to gain control in the series' rubber game.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central got on the scoreboard in the top of the third after Gianno Merlanghi singled with one out and moved to second on a throw home to get a baserunner for the second out. Ryan Scialabba would reach on an error that allowed Merlonghi to score and make it 1-0.
- The Blue Devils would add three runs in the sixth inning. Frankie Ferrentino was hit by a pitch to lead off. Following a strikeout, Gabe Pitts singled to left field. Matt Graziose followed with a three-run homerun to left field to make it 4-0.
- Florida A&M put up five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to go ahead. After a strikeout to open the inning, an error, single and walk would load the bases. Justen Crews would hit a bases-clearing double to drive in three runs and make it 4-3. After a strikeout for the second out of the inning, a walk would put two runners on. Ethan Miller would hit a two-run double to put FAMU up 5-4.
- The Rattlers would load the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the eighth. Jay Campbell would be hit by a pitch to force in a run and push the margin to 6-4. Matthew Perez hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run and a two-run double by Josue Figueroa drove in t wo more to make it 9-4.
NOTES
- Merlonghi had three hits and a run scored.
- Graziose hit his first homerun as a Blue Devil.
- Jacob Hines started and threw 3.0 shutout innings. He allowed two hits and had three strikeouts.
- A total of eight Blue Devils got their first work of the season on the mound.
- The weekend series was the first meetings between the schools.
