Baseball Picks Up Win at UMass on Tuesday
The Central Connecticut State baseball team lost in the bottomteam won its fourth straight, downing UMass, 6-4, on Tuesday in Amherst, MA. The Blue Devils took the lead with runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
Antonio Ducatelli and Nick Fox each hit a home run. Richie Kerstetter closed out the game for his first save.

KEY MOMENTS
- Ducatelli opened the game with a solo homerun to left field. Fox would draw a walk and steal second base before scoring on a Frankie Ferrentino single to make it 2-0
- After the Minutemen scored an unearned run in the second, Fox led off the third inning with a solo homer to make it 3-1.
- In the fourth, CCSU put runners on second and third with one out. Louis Jordan hit a ground ball to shortstop that scored a run.
- UMass got a two-run homer from Gavin O'Brien in the bottom of the fourth to make it 4-3. The Minutemen would tie the game in the seventh on a sacrifice fly.
- In the eighth, Matt Graziose drew a one-out walk. Carson Lentini would pinch run and steal second before going to third on a groundout. He would come on a balk to make it 5-4.
- Jordan led off the ninth with a walk and moved to second on a sac bunt. He scored on a single by Gianno Merlonghi.
NOTES
- Ducatelli had two hits for CCSU.
- Fox has hit in 15 straight games.
- Anthony Costello started and allowed one run in 3.0 innings. He struck out four.
- Kerstetter tossed 1.2 scoreless innings.
- CCSU has won the last two meetings.
