Baseball Drops Twinbill to Le Moyne on Friday
CCSU honored its senior class prior to its final home games at CCSU Baseball Field.
The Central Connecticut State dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Le Moyne on Friday afternoon in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils honored their senior class of Kyle Salvati, Frankie Ferrentino, Ryan Scialabba, Nick Murphy, Louis Jordan and Gianno Merlonghi and team managers Steve Nagel and Will Wilds in honor of their final games at CCSU Baseball Field.
The teams will complete the series with one game on Saturday being played at University of Saint Joseph at 1:00 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils led off the third inning with a single by Gabe Tanous. He would come home, two batters later, after Louis Jordan hit a home run to make it 2-0.
- Kyle Salvati would hold the Dolphins to just four hits through the first 8.0 innings, including a fourth-fifth-sixth innings where he allowed a lone base on balls.
- Le Moyne would lead off the ninth with a homerun by Adam Sullivan to cut the CCSU lead in half. Following a walk, the Blue Devils would make a pitching change, but Le Moyne would take advantage of an error and a wild pitch to move runners to second and third. With the infield pulled in, the Dolphins would take advantage of a CCSU miscue to plate both runs and go ahead 3-2 and complete its comeback..

KEY MOMENTS
- The Dolphins would score in each of the first six innings, including two runs in each of the first two innings to build a 4-0 lead.
- In the third, Le Moyne would bat around and the first nine hitters in the frame reached base safely. The Dolphins would push their lead to 11-0.
- In the bottom of the third, CCSU got a one-out single by Gabe Pitts before he moved to second on a ground out. Antonio Ducatelli would single to right field to drive in Pitts for the Blue Devils' first run.
- In the CCSU fourth inning, Michael Quiros and Donte Valentine led off with a pair of singles. Ryan Scialabba would single down the left field line to drive in both runs and make it 13-3.
- Le Moyne pushed across three more runs in the sixth inning to extend its lead. In the CCSU seventh, Jordan doubled to lead off and moved to third on a single by Ducatelli. A sacrifice fly by Owen Arias would drive in Jordan. A single by Gianno Merlonghi and a hit batter would load the bases with one out. A sacrifice fly by Quiros would drive in a run to make it 16-5, but CCSU could not do any further damage and the game ended due to the run-rule.
NOTES
- Jordan hit his seventh home run of the season, tying for the team lead.
- Quiros went 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI and a run.
- Ducatelli had three hits an RBI and a run in the twinbill.
- In Salvati's final two starts of the season he threw 17.0 innings, allowing two earned runs on just 10 hits. He rang up 19 strikeouts against four walks.
- The all-time series is tied, 4-4.
