Baseball Falls to LIU in Eight Innings Saturday
The Central Connecticut State baseball team fell to LIU in eight innings on Saturday, falling 15-3 in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils were held to just one hit in the first five innings, while LIU scored 10 runs in the opening five frames.
Louis Jordan hit his first home run of the season and drove in two runs.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Sharks built a four-run lead through three innings before doubling the lead with a four-run fourth inning. In the fourth Mike Polubinski, Nick Matson and Matt McGurk each hit RBI-singles, while an error accounted for another run as LIU built an 8-0 lead.
- Elijah Fairchild hit a two-run double in the fifth to push the LIU lead to 10-0.
- CCSU was held to one hit until an Antonio Ducatelli single in the sixth inning. With two outs, Louis Jordan hit a two-run homerun to right field to get CCSU on the board.
- LIU added an unearned run in the seventh before scoring four runs in the eighth inning. Ryan Rivera highlighted the frame with a two-run double.
- CCSU loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth and Carson Lentini hit a sacrifice fly to plate a run before Justin DeCastro finished off his complete-game win for LIU.
