Jordan Homers in Third Straight Game, but Baseball Falls at Fairfield
Louis Jordan hit a homerun for the third straight game, but the Central Connecticut State baseball fell 12-3 against Fairfield on Tuesday in Fairfield, CT. The Blue Devils held an early three-run lead before the Stags took control of the contest.
Jordan hit his third homerun of the season and drove in all three runs. Seven different Blue Devils had a hit in the game.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils hung three runs in the first inning. Gianno Merlonghi reached on an error to lead off and he was followed by a one-out single by Frankie Ferrentino. Louis Jordan hit a homerun for the third straight game to clear the bags and make it 3-0.
- The Stags came back in the bottom of the frame and scored two runs. Fairfield loaded the bases with one out before a wild pitch allowed the first run to score, followed by a Dom Camera sacrifice fly to make it 3-2.
- Fairfield took the lead with a three-run third inning. A sacrifice fly led to the first run before a throwing error led to two more runs in the inning to make it 5-3. The Stags would put two runners on via walks in the fourth and a wild pitch led to a run to push the lead to three runs.
- Fairfield would score in all but one inning in the game, the second, and had single runs in each of the fourth through seventh innings before scoring three in the eighth. TJ Schmalzle doubled in a run and Matt Bucciero hit a two-run homerun to round out the scoring.
NOTES
- Jordan added to his team-leading RBI total (16).
- Danny Witters pinch hit and doubled in the ninth inning.
- Central used six different pitchers for the midweek contest. Anthony Costello made his first start and struck out three.
- Fairfield is 31-23-1 in the series
