Baseball Falls to Coppin State on Saturday
The Central Connecticut State baseball team fell to Coppin State, 10-5, on Saturday in the second game of an NEC series in Hanover, MD. The Eagles built a four-run lead and broke the game open with a five run sixth inning to hold off the Blue Devils.
Louis Jordan drove in two runs and was one of three Blue Devils with two hits.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Eagles built a four-run lead in the game, beginning with a two-run first inning. The first two batters reached base and after moving into scoring position on a sacrifice, Angel Garcia singled to make it 2-0.
- CSU added runs in the third and fourth innings on doubles by Armando Hurtado and Noah Hogan.
- Central would cut the lead to one run with three runs in the sixth. Antonio Ducatelli singled with one out and stole second before scoring on a single by Nick Fox. After another single and a walk loaded the bases with two outs. Michael Quiros would single to centerfield and drive in two runs to make it 4-3.
- Coppin State led off the bottom of the sixth with a double and a single before scoring a run on a groundout. A walk and another RBI-groundout would push the lead to 7- 3 before a triple by Pedro Agosto and single by Nelson Grajales each drove in runs to make it 9-3.
- A bases-loaded walk would push the Eagles' lead to seven runs in the seventh before CCSU scored twice in the ninth. Matt Graziose doubled to lead off, followed by a Brandon O'Neill single. With two outs, Jordan would triple to clear the bases, making it 10-5.
NOTES
- Jordan was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
- Fox had two hits, an RBI and run scored.
- O'Neill finished 2-for-4.
- Ducatelli had two stolen bases in the game.
- Jacob Hines started and went 4.2 innings. He was charged with four runs.
- CCSU is 10-5 in the series.
