Former Standout Cameron Signs With Schaumburg Boomers for 2026
Former Central Connecticut baseball standout Wyatt Cameron has signed with the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League for the 2026 season. Cameron, who played at Central in 2024-25, will be slated for his second season of professional baseball.
Cameron helped CCSU win its ninth Northeast Conference championship to advance to the NCAA Tournament as a senior. He was named the NEC Tournament MVP after pitching in all four games, including both in the championship round. He went 4.2 shutout innings, allowing just three hits in the decisive win. He went 1-1 with a 1.74 ERA in 10.1 innings and had two saves on the weekend. The Blue Devils played at the Auburn Regional. Cameron was named All-NEC First Team in 2025 and appeared in 36 career games, posting a 3-2 record with nine saves. He had a 3.18 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 68.0 innings. Cameron recorded 82 strikeouts against 34 walks, with a K/9 rate of 10.85.
Cameron spent 2025 with the Great Falls Voyagers of the Pioneer League. He went 1-1 with a 3.93 ERA in 34 games pitched for Great Falls. In 34 innings pitched Cameron struck out 44 batters and had 8 saves.
The Frontier League is a professional baseball league comprised of 15 teams in the United States and three in Canada. The league is an official MLB Partner League since 2020 and is headquartered in Sauget, IL. Several alumni of the league have gone on to play MLB, including current Texas Rangers pitcher and former first round selection, Kumar Rocker.
