Fox Earnes NEC Baseball Rookie of the Week
Central Connecticut infielder Nick Fox was named NEC Baseball Rookie of the Week it was announced Tuesday. Fox has earned the honor in consecutive weeks, while Gianno Merlonghi was named a Prime Performer.
Fox extended his hitting streak to 14 games last week and had multiple hits and drove in multiple runs in both ends of a doubleheader sweep against Delaware State on Saturday. In the series-finale he drove in three runs and had two hits, including a triple. He also had two hits and two RBIs in a midweek at UAlbany. On the season, he is hitting .413 and has 16 RBIs in 17 games.

Merlonghi hit a team-leading .588 last week, while driving in seven runs. He had multiple hits in each game last week, while knocking three hits in both games Saturday. He had a three-hit, four RBI outing in the Blue Devils' win over Delaware State in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. On the season, he is hitting .383 with 32 runs, 23 RBIs, three homeruns and 11 stolen bases in 29 games.

The Blue Devils travel to UMass on Tuesday afternoon and Quinnipiac on Wednesday before hosting New Haven this weekend.
